The children love to learn in the Forest, no matter what the weather!
Rain has provided puddles to explore, and very squishy mud in the mud kitchen – great for digging for worms.
Cold weather has provided frost and ice to experiment with, making marks, finding ways to make it melt or using tools to dig into the ice!
Following the children’s interests, we have used saws to cut up Christmas trees, and then used the cut branches to support construction play, or added them to the playdough area.
Cooking has made its way outside with our portable oven and campfire. The children experience and communication through new experiences.
Obstacle courses are created daily by the children, with them managing their own risks and challenging themselves. Gross motor skills are developed well through this, as well as managing feelings and behaviours, taking turns and adding obstacles.
