30 hours free Education and Childcare

From September 2017 the government will provide 30 free hours childcare to working parents of 3 and 4 year olds. Once the scheme is in place, the additional 15 hours of free childcare will be available to families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family) and each parent earns the equivalent of 16 hours a week at the national minimum or living wage, and earns less than £100,000 a year.

For more information please see the Department for Education website. More information will be added to this page when it becomes available.

For eligibility for 30 hours please read the following Briefing 1 – Eligibility

There is a survey produced by the Local Authority if you wish to express your childcare needs.Responses are anonymous, any details collected will not be shared or used for any other purpose than the collation of information for the introduction of the extended entitlement of childcare.
